Pregnancy in field of sunflowers

About Me

It has been a long time since I’ve written anything that wasn’t a ten-page essay on anything I would receive a grade on. I had forgotten how much I actually enjoy writing until I had been tossing around the idea of starting a blog. Five years of University will do that to you! Recently I found out I was pregnant and since then I started writing in a journal, something else I haven’t done since elementary school. I realized I have a lot to say on the subject, not only of pregnancy and becoming a mother, but of other things happening in my life as well!

In this blog I want to write about my experience being a young wife and mother, and I want to help others like me by being open and vulnerable about my struggles and successes. I hope to use both my degree and real-life learning to be the best mom I can and to help other moms too. I also want to talk about other things I’m passionate about like marriage, school, health and fitness, being a military family, music, the little bit of travelling I’ve done, and I’ll most likely write about my dog Luna in there somewhere too! I want this blog to be fun to read and write, but also to be real.

A little bit about me – I am 23 years old, married to my high school sweetheart, and expecting our first child, a little man, on March 8th this year. I love music and both my husband and I grew up always around creativity. My husband is in the Canadian Air Force. We got engaged when we found out he was being posted to Nova Scotia, married December 19th, 2015, and moved out here to this beautiful province. I recently finished my Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies in June 2018 and although it was a long journey, through transferring here and planning a wedding in between, it was well worth it. We have settled nicely into our life here and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

I’m not one to share my thoughts and opinions, or my feelings and dreams, or really anything about myself unless asked. I’d usually rather stay quiet and listen to what others say, although this is something I have tried to work on. Allowing others to read what is going on in my mind is a big step for me. So, I decided to start this blog, if for nothing else than to start enjoying writing again, as well as to bring you on this journey of being a young wife and becoming a young mother! I hope my experiences will help or inspire other mamas as well.

So, thank you if you have reached the end of my ramblings and I hope you’ll stick with me through this new journey!
